This letter' is to notify you Of the extension of the approval for Ei;',to-Deck 1000
and Elasto Deck 5000 x 2, as an approved alternate class A fire-retardant roof deck
and walking deck covering materials as specified in the Uniform Building Code.
This department 's a -
p approval of Elasto-Deck 1000 and Elasto-Deck 5000 z 2 will be in
effect through August Lt, 1987, under the following conditions:
I. Each package of prepared rooring shall bear the label of an approved agency
having a service for the inspection of material and finished product during
manufacture .
All material (except the sand) shall be delivered in packages bearing the
manufacturer's label or identifying mark.
3. A certification shall be furnished by the installer for each job at its
completion, certifying compliance with Pacific Polymers ' specifications and
installation and installation instructions, a copy of which shall be included.
4. The approval will be granted through this department for a period of one
year,
which time any further approval will be required to go though ICBG or someothert
apprnval agency. (See enclosed Building ,Newsletter 3-10)
5. The approval will be subJert to revocation if it appears t►ie product is Trot
performing.

The existing report will be renewed for one additional year, to
October 1 , 1992 , to allow time for testing and review. No
furthcr rens.wale will be granted beyond this date without the

The tests that arc required are as foilown:
1 , Weazherometer test in accordance with ASTM Standard D1499
and G23.
2 . Accelerated Aging Test in accordance with Procedure D and
E of ASTM Standard D756 .

ICBG Evaluation Service Acceptance Criteria for Walking Decks .
Once all testing has been completed, it shall be submitted with
an application for Technical Modification and the current fee as
indicated on the application . Finally, in order to obtain the
renewal until October 1 , 1992 an additional fee of $100 is
required for a change in contact person. Please notes that the
City cannot ,accept checks uw re than 60 days Old. Therefore, It
is suggested that a new check for $850 ($750 for renewal, plus
$100 for clerical modification) be issued.
