Dear Sir or Madam,
It has been brouct . to my att_encion, that a stai-rway way► constructed on the
acUcve referenced property from a yard area to the public street along
-1 109th Ave, a short distance south of SW Canterbury Ln.
After a review cc stairway, it was found that the fol.lowing items 11e r"
in violation of. L' 3 tate Building Code.
o There is no rec .•d of any building permitfor the +stairway.
o The difference in tread risers dimensions exceed j=he allowable 3/8 inah.
There are tread risers lees than the allowable A inches. The troads are not
level . The tread width is less than the allowable 11 inches.
o There ip j10 level landing at the top and bottom of the stair.
o there E.-" no legal handrails.
o The stairway extends into the public right of. way.
I am asking for your assistance in correcting this problem within 10 days of
receipt of this letter, by removing the stairs. If you wish to construct. a
legal stairway, two rete of plans showi-19 the proposed stairway must be
s+,:)m.i-tted to the Building Division for review, and a permit must be obtained.
It my underste.nding t~et a person has al.rrady been injured using this stairway,
I have had the gt-aijr,aay closed off with warning gape, so asto
prevent further
