Dear Mr. Matholn:
As you are aware, the septic system for the above referenced property has
failed. Public sanitary sewer is located within 300 feet of the prorerty, and
under normal circumstances, connection of the dwelling to sewer would be
required.
In this case, however, accessibility is somewhat questionable as a portion of
Fanno Creek lies between the dwelling and sewer main.
The cost to access the sewer and impact to the creek would seem to outweigh
the gain. 'T'here is also the potential for development of the property in the
near future. Therefore, I have no objection to issuance of a repair permit
for the septic system.
