This let-ter Is in response to your question regarding the rules for when an
existing residence F.t the above referenced address, must connect to the public
sanitary sewer. system.
The rule states, tfat, whenever a property Is within 300 feet of a public
sanitary sewer, any structure with plumbing fixtures shall connect to the
system.
There Is however, a policy of not forcing connection to the sewer as long as
the present septic system is functioning properly. If the septic system was to
fail, and the sewer. war with-'n 300 feet of the property, connection to the
sewer would be required.
