AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A ZONE CHANGE WITH RESPECT TO THE LANDS OF
I104ARD R. ADKINS, being part of Lot 10, FREWING ORCHARD TRACTS
Ln Sec. 2, T2S, R1W, W.M. TIGARD, WASHINGTON COUNTY, OREGON
WHEREAS, the hereinafter described lands, by action of the
City Council of the City of Tigard, Oregon, pursuant to the Zoning
Code of said City, have heretofore been limited in use to those uses
permitted by said Code, under, and have been classified and zoned
for, P-7 (Resi(?enti.al)
and
WHEREAS, pursuant to prescribed procedures, the owners of
said lands have applied to the City of Tigard for reclassification of
said property and change of zone thereof to permit the use thereof
for A-2 (Multiple Dwelling) purposes, and said application has
been duly publicized and public hearing held by the City Planning
Commission on February 20, 1968 after due and legal notice; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has recommended disapproval
of said zone change to the City Council, and due and legal notice of
City Council hearing having been given by publication in the Tigard
Times, and the City Council having heard same at its regular meeting
of March 11, 1968 , and the Council finding that no public
detriment will result from granting of said petition, and that it is
in the public interest that said zone chane be approved, and the lands
re-zoned from 32-7 (Resideential) to A-2 Multiple Dwelling)
NOW, THEREFORE,
THE: CITY OF TIGARD ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: That the following described lands be, and the same are
hereby, zoned as A-•2 for use in accordance with the
A-2 (Multiple Dwelling) classification of the Zoning Code of
the City of Tigard, which Zoning Code with respect to the A-2
classification is by reference herein made a part hereof:

in Section 2, Township 2 South, Range 1 West, Willamette Moridian,
4ashington County, Oregon, said corner being in the center of S.W.

'i The City Staff recommends against the proposed Zone Change
for the followini reasons:
1. There is an existing apartment complex between this
parcel and Highway 99.
2. The land is suitable for R-7 development.
3. Garrett Street is heavily traveled and is unimproveu.
4. A large apartment zone was allowed across Garrett
street within 60' of this proposed change.
5. The property should be combined with vacant property to the
South for an R-7 subdivision or a Planners Residential.
