This is a Fire and Life Safety Plan Review and is based on the 1985 editions
of. the Fire and Life Safety Code (UBC) , Mechanical Fire and Life Safety Code
(UMC) , Uniform Fire Code (TJFC), and other local ordinances and regulations.
Flans are conditionally approved subject to the following items:
1. Sprinkler Protection: Automatic sprinkler head pipe off of the
domestic water supply with an indicating control valve shall be
installed in the flammable paint storage room.
2. Flammable and Combustible Liquids: Storage, handling and dispensing
of flammable or combustible liquids shall be in compliance with j
Article 79 of the Uniform Fire Code,

3. Address Required: The tenant space number must be prominently
displayed on the street front where it: is readily visible to drivers
and officers of responding fire apparatus and other emergency
vehicles. (UFC Sec. 10.208)
4. Fire Extinguisher Requirements: Not less than one (1) approved fire
extinguisher(s) with rating of not less than 2A1OB:C shall be provided
for each 1,500 square feet of floor area or fraction thereof. The
travel distance to an extinguisher from any portion of the building
shall not exceed 75 feet. (UFC Standard 10-1)
5. Approved Plans on Job Site: One set of approved plans bearing the
stamps of the Tigard Building Department and this office must be
maintained on the project site throughout all phases of construction
and must be made available to building and fire inspectors for
reference during required construction inspections. (UBC Sec. 303)
