Corridor System: Corridor system is in some debate as to whether it needs to be of one hour fire resistive construction or not due to ambiguities of the Uniform Building Code Section 3305(g&h) with the layout of this exiting system. In i.his particular case, the Building Department and Fire Department has determined that protected corridor construction will not be required as required .in Uniform Building Code provided three smoke detectors are installed at the two corners of the corridor and one located in the reception area. These detectors shall be inter-tied so that when one sounds all will sound but need not be tied to an alarm control panel, however, shall be provided with lock-out switch on its own electrical circuitry to assure continual operation. The fire district would recommend that not less than a National Fire Protection Association Standard 72A system be installed with full control panel, etc. 2. Fire Extinguisher Requirements: Not less than one (1) approved fire extinguisher(s) with a rating of not less than (*) shail be provided for each (**) square feet of "Worklnt"Smoke Detectors Save Lives J.B.K.
