Durham Road A fire and life safety plan review was conducted on the above- captioned project for compliance with the 1985 editions of the Uniform Building Code (IJBC) , Uniform Mechanical Code (IJMr', , and the Uniform Fire Code (UFC) as amended by Washington County Fire District's Ordinance 86-1 . The plans are approved conditional to the following items. 1. Maintenance of Exiting: During construction, exiting from the north exit doors shall not be obstructed when the existing build- ing is occupied. (UFC Article 12) '. Fire-Resistive_Roof: This structure is of such size and because of its occupancy classification a fire-resistive roof' is required. Composition shingles will work for a fire-resistive roof provided they are adequate weight; and not less than two layers of composition shingles are applied over the combustible roof decking in all places. (OBC Chapter 32) 3. Fire Flow Requirements: With this addition, the building ex- ceeds tht allowable 3000 gallon per minute fire flow requirement established by the Tualatin Fire District's Fire Prevention Ordin- ance. to readjust this fire flow requirement, either area separa- tion walls or a central station-supervised smoke detection and manual alarm system may be installed. If the fire wall is chose, it shall comply with the Uniform Building Code requirements in Chapter 5 for a 2-hour area separation wall. if the manual fire alarm arid smoke detection system is installed, it shall comply with Nationz!.l Fire Protection Association Standard 72 A and E. Firestopping: In all wood-framed wall and partitions, fire- stoppirig consisting of 2-inch nominally-sized lumber or other approved materials must be installed at all floor and ceiling levels. Penetrations in this prescribed firestopping to accom- modate wiring, plumbing and other similar utility runs must be packed with noncombustible materials in an approved manner so as to prevent the passage of flame. Address Required- The tengr►t spare number must be prominently displayed on the street front where it is readily visible to drivers and officers of responding fire apparatus and other emer- gency vehicles.
