W . 88th Dear Mfr , R4nynn : To restate our phone conversation e.1f 'this morning , the subject building has a tri --wager system that combines the sprinkler system with the condenser water pips! loop to water source heat pumps through out the building for air conditioninp, and heating . Last winter th.0 cooling tower for this system froze and ReTemple Company has ordered a repla •.ement coil for the toner which will not be available until approximately May 12 . 1989 . When the outside temperature goes up . the 'emperature inside this office building becomes extremely uncomfcrtable . In order to allow the heat pumps to air condition , we request permission to provide a tempert.. Lure controlled drain valve to drain 0 to 70 GPM of hot return condenser watez from the System , which would allow an egval Amount of cold city make-up :eater Into the system thru the sprinkler connection . Because the make-np water would activate the flow switch , causing an ;farm condition , we waiild have to bypass at, deactivate the flow switch during this operating mode . The owner of the building, Executive Properties , which has their headquarters office in this building, agrees to deoignate a person to deactivate the flaw switch and activate the drain system during regular business a,r occupied hours and to reverse the System back to control of the flow switch dining non-working tours , or at anytime the Luilding would he unoccupied or unmonitored . We will also place a watFr meter in the d-ain pipe , to meter the amount of water sent to drain . This meter will ( sad in cubic feet and we will call Metzger Water District prior to starting up and lust prI( to removing this temporary system , when we receive the cooling tower repaiar part .
