I agree to provide maintenance to the area for one year, which will include re-leveling of the blocks and filling them with additional amounts of sand and a one-quarter inch minus crushed rock on top of the sand. This will allow time for things to settle and compact over the winter and result iv a far superior end result than it this were done now. Please process the release of the bond fund of $600.00 as soon as possible, as I have outstanding depts which I must satisfy as a result of the construction costs. Thanks you for your help. A crushed rock surface (vehicle maneuvering and parking area) located within the public right-of-way could too easily become a constant maintenance problem; if not now, perhaps in the fature. As originally specified, it is necessary to provide for a surface covering that is as near to maintenance-free as possible, while assuring that the existing trees receive adequate water. I suggest thLt you speak with Mr. :reg Berry, City Utilities Engineer, for assistance to determine if an alternative material can be found which will satisfy your and our needs.
