The tenant, Dual Lock, is moving from Building "L" to Building "N." 1. The existing spray booth was reviewed. The Fire Marshal noted the following Code discrepancies to be corre-ted prior to installation of the spray booth in the new facility: A. An inter-lock device will be required to prevent operation of the paint sprayer when the exhaust fan is not on. B. Sprinklers will be required in the paint area, spray booth arid shaft. C. The new room enclosure must be of non-combustible construction, as shown on II M/SA drawings Revision 1. 2. A closer will not be required on the door into the room containing the paint booth. 3. Clarification was provided as to the exiting requirements: one exit will be provided out of the room containing the paint booth. 4. All flammable liquids will be stored in an approved fire cabinet. 5. The Fire Marshal expressed concern about chemicals in the processing area. Dual Lock confirmed that chemicals are not stored on-site in a large quantity. The largest volume of chemicals stored on site is 10 gallons, and is stored in their original containers. The Fire Inspector stated that this is accf,ptable as long as the storage area met with OSHA requirements. The Fire Marshal noted that the planned location of the exhaust motor (on top of the paint booth) is acceptable, and does not have to be located on top of the room enclosure. 1. The Fire Marshal , Fire Inspector and Building Inspector express no other concerns regarding relocation of existing equipment. At this point, the Fire Marshal , Fire Inspector and Building Inspector left the meeting. 8. Pro Temp verified that the equiprrent involved in the spray booth is as they originally anticipated. At this point the installer from Pro Temp left the meeting. 9. The relocated air compressor. which will be installed on top of the paint booth enclosure, will require isolators. Dual Lock will provide the isolators and Koll Construction will install them. 10. The yaws and the punch press equipment were reviewed. It was decided that no isolation footing or isolators will be required for the punch press and no bolting to the slab will be required. To ease in the installation of the punch press in the existing building, Clem Grant suggested that the pavement be repaired at the existing dock at Building N. 11 . It was confirmed by M/SA that the existing roof structure could handle the regrirements of the make up air unit, which will be relocated from Dual Lock' s existing space to their new space. This approval depends upon the placement of the air handler so that the heavy portion of the air handler will be supported by a glu lam beam and the light portion will be supported by the 4 x 16 purlins. Dual Lock considers These parameters too constricting, as they needed to provide the mechanical unit in a different location than previously arranged. Additional str -,:,.ture will need to be provided to handle the load of the make up air unit. Field review of the location was deemed necessary at this time. 'The location for the make up air, unit will be to the south of the location previous'y noted. This location will require the addition of structural supports for the unit itself. Dual Lock understands that this change is over and above Koll ' s existing contract. There will be a Change Order issued and Koll is to provide a price. M/SA will review the structural requirements and verify that two 4 x 12 N1 beams suspended between the glu lam and the concrete wall will be adequate for the structural capacity of the make up air unit. 12. Location of the arc welding outlet is not to be near the paint booth or the ovens. The Fire Marshal 's office received a plan that showed the location of the arc welding outlet near the paint booth. Gene Birchill , Fire Marshal , specifically stated that this is not acceptable. It was noted that the electrical contractor was not present at the meeting, but did perform a walk-through of the Dual Lock facility at 1:00. 14. The operation of the inter lock system was discussed. Bec%.use there is other equipment tied to the air compressor, it is necessary to isolate the paint booth compres:.or activities from other procedures requiring the compressor. This could be achiered by providing a solonoid valve in the air line between the compressor and the spray booth. The solonoid will ensure that the exhaust fan is on prior to any operation of the spray hose. 15. Dual Lock' s shut down schedule and the relocation from their existing facility to the new tenant space is subject to the schedule agreed to by Koll and Dual Lock. Dual Lock's interpretation of this schedule is that there are two weeks between the time between Dual Lock must shut down for relocation of the equipment to the time they will be fully operational . This schedule will be verified by Koll Construction. 16. Dual Lock expressed a concern regarding the parameters of the final inside surface of the concrete tanks. Koll indicated that they woulr+ sand blast and grind the insides of the tanks to provide good adhesion for the epoxy coating. The coal tar finish is to be installed in all tanks. It is not necessary to provide this treament in the containmEnt area surrounding the tanks. Note that the coal tar finish needs to be extended over the top of the existing tank wall and that all joints must be caulked. 17 . Koll will provide Dual Lock with a washed and broom cleaned floor. This concrete floor will then be painted by the tenant after the equipment is inste..11ed. Koll is to approve the paint and the installation method. 18. The dimensions and requirements for the room '_hat encloses the paint booth was discussed. The overall dimension is to remain the same as indicated on the plan. The door location is to be revised so that it will be oriented on the youth wall , ,-s originally noted in previous designs. M/SA is to provide revised drawinqs reflecting this change. The keyhole for the continuous trolley system was located. This dimension will be provided on revised M/SA drawings. All revisions to the paint booth room are to be provided at no charge to the tenant. 19. The fire extinguisher- located in the office near the wa-ehouse poor is to be relocated in the wArehouse outside of the same door. A sul-face mounting is to be provided and Koll Construction will remove the existing extinguisher cabinet and patch and repair the wall as required. Additional fire extinguisher locations will he verified by Dual Lock prior to installation of hardware. 20. Clem Grant expressed concern regarding the relocation and refinishing of the existing counter located in Dual Lock' s present office. Since Clem has received no communication regarding new finishes for this item, he is concerned that this item may be overlooked. Koll Construction is to verify. 22. Koll noted that the surface mounting of the electrical boxes and conduit at the concrete tanks is a requirement specified by DEQ or USA. The M/SA drawing does not indicate recessed boxes. 23. Clem Grant asked Koll to verify the dimension of t drain diameter from the concrete tanks. M/SA felt that the dimension was Koll construction wiil verify this.
