REPORT: Assembly 8 ' . 011 x 9' . 0" Double swing fire rated ?' Wood fire door with solid core 3-3/4" W x 3/4" Doorjamb/ ' frame, high density wood, TEST: i Fire Exposure Test of Door Assemblies in accordance with criteria specified in ASTM E 152-81 Standard . Gentlemen, Your fl -m submitted a door jamb/frame assembly with fire rated doors fc a Fire Endurance Test , to achieve twenty (20) minute fire rating , The test was successful , with detail results on the 4 following pages : 1 Assembly Description: .I , A pair of fire rated doors 81 .0" x 9' . 0„ , with the door jamb/frame assembly of MSF material was mounted into a .stud wall section. Tha , wall section was covered with 5/8” fire rated gypsum board. The doors were installed, using listed hinges and hard ware. The doors were hung to open into, the furnace system. Clearances around the doors were sufficient to allow free operation 1 of the doors , while remaining with in the 1/8" along the top, 1/8" , along the hinge and latch jamb, 1/8" along the meeting of the doors , in pairs, and 1/4" at the bottom of the pair . These clearances were within a minus 1/16" tolerance. s i A^A MWWAL PROTECTION M CL19%?$ THE PV061C AHO OVM ELV[S ASL NLM11%A11L I+WIMITTAO A4 THE l'pNf IQeN•tAI 1.IiOCkfr OF Clt[NT/ANO AMC INT"OCO FOM THE VLL Of OUNCLILNT$VNLM4 WNCII YLN'ION 011 rNriTr MAV UriL11C T.0 RrMO11T OR ANV PO*?"N Tur/rn....n..n...................... _.... . y_ NO - l a - 90 TUE 1 1 C S 7 NORTHLJEST P . 05 sr September 7 , 1989 WOOD-TECH INC. /RENFROW 'S, INC. Page 2 The wall assembly was placed on the furnace with a negative, i positive pressure system centered, and 1" above the top of the dl)l)r frame to measure internal furnace pressure during the Fire Exposure Test . Initial warp measurements and temperatures were noted at the start e, of the test . Thermocouples were placed on the unexposed portions of the door jamb/frame, tc register temperatures during the Fire Exposure Test . t • Commants : The pair of doors remained intact and structurally sound to the door jamb/frame' assembly through out the Fire Exposure Test period. At no time during the twenty (20) minute test , was there any flaming on the unexposed side of the door jamb/frame assembly. ►. Internal furnace pressure was maintained at 0 . 001 to 0 . 003 inches of water during the test period . Conclusions : 'k The 8 ' . 0" x 9' . 0" door jamb/frame has met the testing criteria for ac,:eptance in AFTM E 152-81 , UBC 43-2 , CAN 4-510480 , NFPA 252 Te!;t methods for twenty (20) minute fire rating with, hose stream test . E It is recommended thAt the door jambs/frames be manufactured from wood material with an average density of 34 lbs . per cubic foot , It ii recommended that smaller sizes of the door jamb/frame of the : ame material be accepted and approved as li.ste ;l, door jamb assembly.
