Dear Mi. Tappan,
Th.- "-,ABO One and Two Family Dwelling Code exempts buiiding permits
for "...nonbearing partitions...door and window replacements (where no
structural member is changed)..." whc�n such work is done on a one-
family residence. The Code also defines a family as "...a group of not
more than any five persons living together in a dwelling unit...". ORS
197.660 (2) indicates that staff persons required to meet licensing
requirements shall not be counted in the number of facility residents.
Since your foster home does not have more than 5 facility residents, it
qualifies as a single family residence and does not need a building permit',
for the installation of an interior door.
