As per our Ztfiscvssrorr earlier his week , the walls within this
tenant space must be covered with one ( L ) layer of 5/8- inch thick
type X gypsum wallboard . In addition to this requirement , we
would recommend a closer nailing schedule to accommodate the dis-
tance of the existing wall studs or the installation of more wall
studs as the case may be . In anv case , our concern is to create
the best envelope of gypsu-o wa11 ')oard possible to prevent the
spread of fire and allow the sprinkler system to do its job .
Please be advised , and fur the public record , the modifications
agreed upon are a result of your acting before researching the
regulations through the proper agencies . We want you to under-
stand for future reference , we will not tolerate this kind of
disregard for the minimum standards as outlined by the State of
Oregon Structural Specialty and Fire and Life Safety Code , and
future violations wi11 be dealt with by the letter of the law .
The point , Mr . Robinson , is we are here to assist you in :hese
endeavors . If YOU will call Lis before going ahead with these
types of projects we can prevent this type of contusion for the
better of all . We hope you would agree .
