W. Greenburg Road in Tigard, Oregon. The inVeStigation was conducted at approximately 8:00 a.m. on Deceltber 20, 1985. Using a backhoe, three test pits were dug at the locations indicated on the attached sketch. The test pits out of the creek flood plain indicated approximately eiqht feet of old, loose, unconsolidated fill on 2+ feet of black organic soils. The test pit in the creek flood plain indicated 2+ feet of top soils and organic materials. It is reccmre-mled that all structural loads be placed on clean stable soils below the black organic soils or on 3/4"-1 1/2" crushed rack canpacted to 95% maximum density starting below the organic layer. . Floor slabs may be placed on the existing fill utilizing a 6" layer of crushed rock under the Mab. Water table was noted at 7 feet below the surface of the existing fill. Footings placed according to the abcre may be designed with a soil bearing pressure of 2000 pounds per square foot. It is reccmnended that a soils engineer inspect subgrade conditions prior to concrete or rock placcurnt to verify conditions and confirm the suitability of the actual conditions to support the loads indicated. Engineering or consolidation testing were neither reques-ed nor performed. If there are any further questions on this matter, please do not hesitate to contact cut office.
