GENERAL (A. ) Work being shown and specified in these Contract Documents is intended to coordinate with existing field conditions. Dimensions take precedent over scale. (3 . ) Contractor to patch, repair or replace any surface and material not designated for demolition but is damaged during construction. Management and Contractor will determine the extent of repair required to return affectet area (s) to original condition or better. B. Scheduling: a (1 . ) Before commencing alteration or demolition submit for Management and Tenant approval a schedule showing commencement, order and completion dates for various parts of this work. (2 . ) Notify Management prior to performing work which will generate smoke or dust as existing fire alarm system is sensitive to these particles. (3 . ) Contractor to notify affected utility companies before starting work and comply with their requirements, and do not disable or disrupt building fire or life safety systems without prior written notice to Management. C. Protection: (1. ) Make explorations and probes as necessary to ascertain required protective measures betore proceeding with demolition and removal. Give particular attention to shoring and bracing requirements so as to prevent damage to existing construction. (4 . ) Do not close or obstruct walkway widths to exits as may comply with prevailing codes and regulations. Do not store or place materials in passageways, stairs, or other means of E' egress. Conduct operations with minimum traffic interference to general and public areas of the Building. (5. ) Be responsible for damage to existing struc- ture or contents. D. Workmanship: (1 . ) Perform demolition, removal and alteration work as shown with due care, including shoring, bracing, etc. Contractor shall take care to protect all items specifically mentioned or implied as to remain or to be relocated. I (7. . ) Execute the work in a careful and orderly manner, with the least possible disturbance to public and to occupants of building. (3 . ) Where alterations occur, or new and old work join, Contractor to cut, remove, patch, repair or refinish adjacent surfaces to the extent .required by the involved conditions to create an appearance equal to, or better than as existed prior to commencing the work. Materi- als and workmanship employed in alterations , j unless otherwise shown or specified, shall conform to that of the original work :and all alteration work shall be performed by the respective trades which normally perform the particular items of work.
