This requests your cooperation in correcting a problem with the common rain drainage line
leading from your houses towards Copper Creek Drive.
Enclosed is a map showing your lots and that of Harvey and Betty Jo Shore at 16300 SW
Copper Creek Dr. We have shown the approximate location of a 4 inch diameter PVC rain
drain line that leads from your properties onto the Shore property but stops short of the
sidewalk and curb at Copper Creek Drive. This cummon drain line directs water from your
two properties onto the Shore property and causes flooding there.
This is a violation of the Oregon One and Two Family Dwelling Code, Section 3801, which
says: "All rain, storm, and other surface runoff water .. . drained by storm water drainage
pining shall be conveyed by such piping to a storm sewer [or] ... street gutter ... in a
manner which will not cause flooding to adjacent property, streets, alleys, or walkways."
Properly installed, the drain line should continue under the sidewalk and through a drainage
weephole in the curb to direct the water to the street gutter.
Please correct this situation by having your common drain line properly installed with
appropriate permits from the Building Division, City of Tigard and with appropriate
permission from Mr. & Mrs. Shore for anv work on their property. To ensure that repairs
are completed before the wet season begins, please give this your immediate attention and
have the permit applications submitted by Friday, September 15, 2000.
