Dear Mr. Hartman: Per your request, October 7, 1980 I inspected your residence to determine the possible cause of the problem. The flashing appears to be installed properly, with the ex- ception of the upper collar. The caulking has cracked and pulled away. I believe this could be the cause of the problem. In addition, I also noted the chimney does not extend the minimum 2 feet above a point within 10 feet of roof. Actual height is only 18 inches.
