At the time of my arrival the G-Cam had excavated both buildings to subgrade elevation. Crushed rock was to be delivered later in the day that will be spread over the subgrade. I observed and probed the subgrade using a Y2 inch diameter steel foundation probe. In lot 57 there is about 4 inches of strippings still remaining on lot at subgrade elevation. Below the strippings the soil is medium stiff to stiff silt fill. The soft stripping should be removed before rock to protect the subgrade is placed. In lot 58, the subgrade consisted of stiff to very stiff silt fill across the entire excavation. I spoke with Sergey on the site and Mr. Durst by phone advising them of my observations and recommendations. Based on observation and probing, it is our opinion that the subgrade in Lot 57 and 57 will perform as intended to support foundations loads of single family home foundations after the 4 inches of strippings are removed from Lot 57.
