Call to Order and Roll Call At 7 p.m. the meeting was called to order by Holly Polivka. 2. Approval of Minutes: April 11, 2016, and May 9, 2016 Scott Winkels moved to approve the April 11, 2016, meeting minutes. Wayne Gross seconded the motion. The minutes were approved by a majority of the board members present with Wayne Gross, Holly Polivka, Linda Shaw and Scott Winkels voting yes. Claudia Ciobanu abstained. Claudia Ciobanu moved to approve the May 9, 2016, meeting minutes. Linda Shaw seconded the motion. The minutes were approved by a majority of the board members present with Claudia Ciobanu,Wayne Gross, Holly Polivka, Linda Shaw and Scott Winkels voting yes. 3. Comments from the Audience There were no comments from the audience. 4. Discuss Items from Previous Meetings The board requested a copy of the Park CIP Criteria be included in its packets for the next meeting. 5. Update and Discussion with Tigard-Tualatin School District Representative To allow a representative from Tigard-Tualatin School District (TTSD) attend this month's PRAB meetings, the board members moved the monthly meeting date. The representative did not attend. 6. Tigard Downtown Redevelopment Project Manager Sean Farrelly updated the board on the city's progress for a public open space. Some of the highlights include: The city was awarded a grant to clean-up the site. • It is planned for a public space to be built next to Fanno Creek. ■ Staff is waiting for a decision for a grant to improve the Tigard Street Trail. • Family Fest will begin September 9, 2016. Parks and Recreation Updates Recreation Coordinator Anthony Markey updated the board on the progress with a recreation program. Some of the highlights include: • Second year funding for a recreation program has been approved. • The city will be hiring a part-time position to help with the recreation department. • Sports camps have been offered. • Movie in the Park will be held at Dirksen Nature Park on August 19, 2016. 8. Parks Updates Parks Supervisor Martin McKnight updated the board and some of the highlights include: • Cook Park soccer fields are currently being renovated. • Fun runs at Cook Park have increased. • July 2, 2016, through July 9, 2016, Tigard Little League hosted a district tournament at Cook Park. • Earlier in the month, a local drum and bugle corporation performed at Tigard High School. • Cook Park hosted 4th of July fireworks. • A local Girl Scout troop held a day camp at Cook Park. • Irrigation repair will begin at Summerlake Park. Scott Winkels reported the discovery of hazardous BMX trails at Dirksen Nature Park. Staff responded they will investigate. Steve Martin reported a grant to build a restroom at Dirksen Nature Park has been approved. 9. PRAB Liaison Reports There were no liaison reports. 10. Non-Agenda Items Wayne Gross asked staff when the CIP where due. Steve Martin replied the list will be included during the September PRAB meeting. 11. Executive Session No executive session was held.
