This office was asked to modify the plans to add a new bonus/storage room at the upper ,0'' -- ; r
level that was previously a lower roof. This included modifying the upper floor plan,
roof trusses and framing,as well as the upper floor �
pne framing. Attached are the revisions to '
those plans,as well as the revised elevation.
Also,a further analysis was necessary to determine if the upper floor framing was still
adequate with the additional floor loading. It was determined through analysis that the
upper floor framing,specifically over the garage as previously designed and specified is
adequate. One additional 5 1/8"X 15"glulam will be required under the upper level
floor plans.
We have also concluded that no additional lateral supports were needed,
wind
loading did not increase,and there was a minimal and insignificant increase seismic
weight.
As specified above,and as drawn on the attached drawings,we conclude that the general
framing of the structure is sufficient to adequately support the new addition,with the new
beam and modified framing as shown.
