Hello Mr. Isaacson,
Unfortunately,we made a mistake in not invoicing the school construction excise tax that was due for this addition
project, and we regret the inconvenience that it has caused you and your client. This fee cannot be waived by the City of
Tigard as it is a fee that we must collect and pass on to the Tigard-Tualatin School District.
At this time,the school construction excise tax of$336.00 is due and payable, and I have attached an invoice for your
client. The building permit will remain in issued status until the fee has been paid, at which time we will close the case
record. A condition will remain on the parcel record until the fee has been paid in full.
The payment can be paid by credit card through our online system at https://aca.accela.com/tigard/, or in person
Monday-Thursday,8:00 am to 4:30 pm in the Permit Center. We are closed on Fridays. If you need assistance with the
online payment please contact me at 503-718-2430. Please email me if the fee is paid online and I will properly close
the permit record and remove the condition from the parcel.
Again, we sincerely regret the inconvenience this has caused you, and please know that additional measures have been
put in place to prevent future instances. If you wish to speak about this further,you may call our Building Official, Mark
VanDomelen at 503-718-2448, Monday-Thursday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Hello Brandon,
I understand the need to collect this fee, it is unfortunate that it was not collected at the time that the permit
was issued. However, because it was not included on the original permit issued by the City of Tigard, we are
now presumed to be in non compliance and we are unable to close a project, because someone at your office did
not include it at time of issuance of permit. I can't say that makes me happy.
In my business, if I forget to include something that needed to be billed and I already closed out the job
with the customer I would not go back and try to collect something that I should have from the start,that's on
me. Besides the fact we were already passed on our inspections. My Number is 503-703-9956 and we can

We issued your building permit for Jose Acevedo on December 14, 2015. We recently discovered that the
Tigard-Tualatin School Excise Tax was not collected at the time of permit issuance. Since the fee was not
initially collected, we have added the school excise tax to your permit, and the balance due is now
$336.00. Inspections will not be able to be completed with a balance due. We apologize for this
