It's our understanding that there are some site conditions which require the concrete stem wall to exceed 4'-0" in height. This is an acceptable revision for stem walls up to 8'-0" in height provided the differential height between exterior finish grade and the soil elevation in the crawlspace does not exceed 2'-0" as shown in the attached detail. Note that either finish grade or crawlspace soil elevation may be at a higher elevation as long as the differential height between the two is not greater than 2'-0".
