The STS equipment must be used in a controlled ternperature erivironment. Maintain equipment room temperature between 40 and 105 degfees Fahrgnhqit. Adgquate forced ventilation must be provided across the unit by placing 4n•approspriale:exhlgust fan opposite an equivalent air intake vent. The fan should be higher.th n themsoyiateciiipt a vent. • Recommended minimum exhaust fan requirements are as follows: ... ••.• • • •. •• • • STS Unit Minimum CFM ' ••' " '•' STS-3 500 CFM STS-5 600 CFM STS-15 800 CFM STS-6 1000 CFM STS-10 1200 CFM STS-30 1600 CFM Note: If the exhaust fan is venting to the outside of the building precautions must be taken to protect the fan and equipment room from weather elements and animal intrusion. This can be accomplished by getting a fan with a built in shutter or adding a shutter or shroud to the selected fan. Exhaust Fan and Intake Louver Selection. The following are examples of exhaust fan and intake louver selections found in catalogs on the McMaster-Carr (http://www.mcmaster.com ) and Grainger (http://www.grainger.com) web sites. Although the following selection examples can be used on the stated STS systems, they are for illustration purposes only. The installer can use any vendor or appropriately sized exhaust fan and associated intake louver as long as the ventilation requirements listed above for the installed STS system are met. Selection Examples. The exhaust fan, model number 2187K15, from McMaster-Carr is a fan with a 10-inch blade diameter using 115 VAC producing 600 CFM. This exhaust fan meets the requirements for both the STS-3 and STS-5 systems. Since the associated intake louver needs to be about three times the area of the exhaust fan diameter, one of the following intake louvers could be used: Model 2038K58 that is approximately 14 by 18 inches or Model 2037K671 that measures 16.5 by 16.5 inches. from Grainger exhaust fan, stock number 2C791, is a fan with a 12-inch blade diameter t s for the STS-15 using producing the requirements 115 VAC roducin 820 CFM. This exhaust fan meets q system. Since the associated intake louver needs to be about three times the area of the selected exhaust fan diameter, The installer could use intake louver, model 2038K58, that is approximately 18 by 20 inches. 16 SINGLE STS PUMP•113(ST•ALLIT.IQ(N••DETAILS • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • •• •• • • • • • • ••• • • •• • • • • • • • • •• • •• • • • • Note: Each kit provides the required hoses, claml% and adapters. The tank and pump can be stacked or installed side-by- side depending on the size of the installation site. Refer to Figure 13 and perform the following procedure to connect the system. 1. Determine the installation footprint dimensions and connection requirements for the system to be installed. Place the CAS tank and STS pump in position. 2. If installing side-by-side configuration, proceed to step 4. If stacking, perform step 3. 3. When stacking the CAS tank on top of a STS pump, refer to Figures 15 and 16 and secure the tank to pump using supplied hardware. Make sure to bolt or secure installation to the floor or wall when stacking any STS system. A 20-gallon CAS tank can not be stacked on top of STS-15 pumps. 4. Install check valves supplied in Dual Manifold Accessory Kit; P/N 54400, on both pumps as shown by Figure 14, View B. 3. Determine the installation footprint dimension and connection requirements. Place the CAS tank and STS pumps in position. 4. If installing side-by-side configuration, proceed to step 7. If stacking, perform step 5. Note: Make sure to bolt or secure installation to the floor or wall when stacking any STS system.A 20-gallon CAS tank can not be stacked on top of STS-15 pumps. 5. Stack the two STS pumps as shown by Figure 16 and secure the pumps together using supplied hardware. 6. Refer to Figure 15 and stack the CAS tank onto the two STS pumps. Secure the tank to the top pump using supplied hardware. 7. Measure and record distance between each connection point as shown in the Figures 13 and 14. 8.
