Crenna, CEG LOCATION OF WORK CONTRACTORS EQUIPMENT OBSERVED IN USE Lot 160 (2)tracked excavators CONTRACTOR ACTIVITY,OBSERVATIONS,CONCLUSIONS,RECOMMENDATIONS: I made this visit at the request of Don Durst to observe foundation excavation subgrade conditions for single-family home construction on Lot 160. While on site, I met with Sergey and sent a text message to Mr. Durst. At the time of my visit, a stepped foundation excavation had been completed to an approximate depth of 1 to 6 feet below adjacent grade. The building envelope was partially marked with offset survey stakes. I observed the subgrade and probed the near surface soil with a steel shaft soil probe. The subgrade was stiff to very- stiff silt fill and native silt. Two deck footings at the rear of the building envelope are excavated to 6-inch-diameter, angular rock fragments that form the backfill for the retaining wall beyond the southern property boundary. Based on observation and probing, the subgrade excavation has been prepared in general conformance with the project specifications and our recommendations, and should perform as intended to support single family home foundations. Footings should be formed such that they maintain a minimum 1 H:1 V setback from the base of unsupported near vertical cuts.
