Tigard Public Library Board — Minutes
MEETING DATE/TIME: Wednesday,January 13, 2016 7 p.m.
MEETING LOCATION: 13500 SW Hall Blvd., Conference Room, Second Floor
1. CALL TO ORDER:
Chair Scott Hancock called to order the January 13,2016 Tigard Library Board at 7 p.m.
2. ROLL CALL
Present at the meeting were: Scott Hancock,Linda Monahan,Michelle Taylor,Jan Thenell;Alternates Becky
Gauthier, and Roarke Van Brunt,Library Director Margaret Barnes. Katie Harris,Nicci Walker, Cole
Weber and Executive Assistant Alison Grimes were excused.
3. APPROVE MINUTES
There were no minutes to approve.
4. AGENDA ADDITIONS AND DELETIONS
None.
5. CALL TO THE PUBLIC
Kari Kunst,Youth Services Librarian,was the staff guest this evening. She spoke about doing the Fun for
Ones story times. She is also the selector for Juvenile Non-Fiction. She was excited about the STEM
programming that she's a part of here in the library.
6. POLICIES
The board read through and moved to reapprove the Library's Internet Policy.

7. LIBRARY OPERATIONS
Barnes noted that we will be starting the Annual Patron survey at the end of January. Barnes also discussed
the reopening of the Library on Thursdays and the potential opening date for the new cafe. Wireless

Printing is in a trial phase. The Beaverton Library Board joint meeting was discussed. Barnes will circle
back to discuss with Beaverton's director to set up a date for the joint meeting.
8. OTHER BUSINESS
o The joint City Council meeting was discussed. There was discussion about reviewing the following
WCCLS policies: PLSA,Wilinet.
9. ADJOURN
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:32 p.m. The next meeting of the Tigard
Library Board is scheduled for Wednesday, February 10, 2015 at 7 p.m. in the second floor Conference
Room of the Library, 13500 SW Hall Blvd.,Tigard.
