A new header of same size was installed over the header and extends over the trimmers, but not to the end of wall. The existing header was left in place with 3-1/2"ripped out of bottom of header. The new header will take the vertical loads with no modifications. The lateral plans, S1 references detail 11/S2 where the header Is continuous to end of wall. The lower header is continuous and serves as the member that reduces the aspect ratio of shear wall. The upper header does not need to extend to end of wall. Please note that the vertical straps are still required. The attached photo matched the description above and no modifications are required. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Sincerely, rY'r. 12-31-2017 Michael . Brown,-S.E. it _ .,,. .. ; ,.r.:.:;.
