While onsite, I observed cut subgrade for Lot 2. Exposed subgrade consisted of brown silt and clay. I used a Yin
diameter steel foundation probe to evaluate consistency of the exposed subgrade soil. Exposed cut subgrade soil
was generally observed to be medium stiff to stiff based on resistance to penetration of the probe. See attached site
plan. Due to wet weather construction, we recommend placing a few inches thick, lightly compacted crushed rock
layer as soon as possible to protect the subgrade from wet weather elements and foot traffic.
Based on our observations and probing, the subgrade for Lot 2 observed today, was prepared in accordance with
our geotechnical recommendations.
