Members Present: Carine Arendes (Chair),Linh Pao (Vice Chair), Richard Shavey, Sherrie

1. CALL TO ORDER
Vice Chair Linli called the meeting to order at 6:35 pm and led the meeting until Chair Arendes
arrived at 6:39 pm. The meeting was held in the Tigard Red Rock Conference Room, at 13125 SW
Hall Blvd.Joe recorded the roll call.
2. CONSIDER MINUTES
A quorum was not present so approval of the August 12, 2015 CCAC Minutes was deferred.
3. NON-AGENDA ITEMS/PUBLIC COMMENT
A. Linli noted she had recently been to Provo,Utah. Their recreation program is self-reported as
one of two nationwide programs that are profitable.
Chair Arendes called for public comment.
B. Bret Lieuallen commented that the city needed to improve its communications.
Sherrie gave a brief overview on the selection of the gateway art,including color, and the color
change to avoid blending in with the background while also meeting strict ODOT requirements.
4. CCAC COMMUNICATIONS GOALS
Rudy stated that storytelling is important to get the message out to the public as a whole. Ideas for
improving communications included: improve the CCAC presence on the City website, utilize
Cityscape, create a 30-second elevator speech (talking/message points),business cards with CCAC
email address, describe what CCAC does rather than using acronyms, focus on individual members,
meet at various locations, send notifications to the downtown listserv, and encourage downtown
business stakeholders to join CCAC. It is important to communicate and celebrate the successes.
Linli,Richard,Ravi and possibly Joyce will establish the important talking points. Sean shared a draft
brochure highlighting urban renewal successes and asked for input. It will be distributed at the Street
Fair.
5. TIGARD STREET HERITAGE TRAIL FOLLOW-UP
Suenn Ho will facilitate the October meeting in Town Hall to discuss the Tigard Street Heritage
Trail.

G. TACTICAL URBANISM DISCUSSION
The focus will he on activating the.Tigard Street Trail. Sherrie offered to display information
regarding the meeting in her business. Sean will notify the listserv. Other stakeholders to invite
include TDA,PRAB,17AC,Planning Commission,City Council, attendees of the previous Suenn
Ho presentation,Kaiser,and Providence,property owners along the trail,dog park advocates,art
project members, and art committee members. The goal is to have people working together to make
the Tigard Street Trail happen in an inexpensive manner..
7. Xd QUARTER CCAC GOALS UPDATE
The update will be used to update the CODA at the joint meeting. Any members able to attend will
have an opportunity to share input on the items they are excited about from the list.
8. GCACJCCDA JOINT MEETING PLANNING
The joint meeting is on October 6. Information to be discussed must be submitted prior to the
meeting for the agenda.
9. STREET FAIR BRIEFING
The Street Fair will take place September 12 from I 1 am to 5 pin. 'There will be two stages this year
and it includes Tour de Parks and a walk. Almost 90 vendors this year with some turned away due tc?
lack of available slots. Burnham Street will remain open for the car wash and vendor parking at B &

10. CCAC RECRUITMENT
Downtown business and property owners will be encouraged to apply. The terms for Canine,Laura
and Paul expire this year and all are eligible to serve another term. Recruitment for both noting
(three year) and non-voting alternate (one year) positions will occur this fall.
11. LIAISON REPORTS
A. A public Brownfield meeting will take place on October 7. A Brownfield meeting for
business and property owners takes place on October 28.
B. TTAC is undergoing a new long-term CIP process. The City is planning for itnproveinents
in the I Iunziker Industrial Core including a road.
C. Ash Burnham project construction is on track to start in mid-October.
