Purpose: Evaluate Lot 9 Subgrade

While onsite for other earthwork activities, I observed foundation subgrades as requested by Jason Canfield with
Polygon.

Lot 9
I observed that crew members had prepared the house foundation subgrade on lot 9. The footings for lot 9 had
been formed and crews were in the process of placing rebar at the time of my visit. Subgrade consisted of brown silt
covered with 1 to 2 inches of compacted crushed rock as leveling course. Using a/2" diameter footing probe, I
probed through the crushed rock to evaluate the subgrade. Penetrations ranged from 1 to 4 inches. Based on
penetration resistance, the subgrade appeared stiff.
Based on observations and probing, the foundation subgrade for the house on lot 9 has been prepared in
accordance with our geotechnical recommendations.
