It is my understanding that the bracing at the rear deck does not extend to the bottom of they
posts. Posts are approximately 14 feet tall and bracing comes in approximately 8'-0"down from
deck. Additional bracing is required. Add a horizontal 2x6 minimum at bottom of existing
bracing and add diagonal bracing. Connections of added bracing to match existing. See
attached photo with sketch.

To conform with the 2008 Oregon Residential Specialty Code (ORSC), Section R318.2 and
OAR 918-480-0140, I am notifying the building official that 1 am aware of the moisture content
Requirement of ORSC Section R318.2 and have taken steps to meet this code requirement.
[Section 8318.2 is provided for reference].
8318.2 Moisture Content: Prior to the installation of interior finishes, the building
official shall be notified in writing by the general contractor that all moisture-sensitive
wood framing members used in construction have a moisture content of not more than 19
percent by dry weight of dry framing members.
