This memo is intended to address questions generated by the inspector for the
above listed project.
Question 1: The framer did not extend the garage header to the
outside edge of the shear pier as shown on the original detail 1/S0.0.
Is there a repair option? •
Answer 1: YES. Please see the attached revised detail 1/S0.0. The
beam can stop over 2 bearing studs. The strap as originally required
shall be installed on the near edge. In addition, an additional strap is
required over the top plate of the pier and the wall above at the
outside edge of the shear pier.
I trust the information provided is adequate for review and acceptance of the
