Project Description and Scope: Two existing rooftop mechanical units are being replaced on the Plaza West building. This building is an existing 5 story office building with a plan size of about 220 feet by 75 feet. The new units are to replace existing units. The roof framing is comprised of metal decking, wide flange joists, and wide flange girders. Each new unit is same type and each are around 1530 lbs and will use a new adapter curb to fit up with their respective existing conditions. Included in the scope is the lateral anchorage of each unit and analysis of existing support framing. Each new unit is less than 20 feet in length. Previously, VLMK provided analysis for replacement of two units on the east end of the roof in December of 2011 and the west end of the roof in September, 2012. These two units are in different locations on the roof. ***LIMITATIONS*** VLMK Consulting Engineers was retained in a limited capacity for this project.
