application. The r.ecent deluge of new billboards in the
Tigard area has caused considerable concern among the
citizens and the City Council. Due to this concern, the �
Couneil recently passed an ordinance requiring that all �
new proposals for billboards go thraugh the usual Condi- �I
tional Use procedures. In this way, each proposal .may be �
reviewed on its own merit. il
Southwest Paci£ic Highway is already conspi.cuously cluttered �
I with on-site advertising of all varieties, as well as a �
number of billboards. As a staff we feel the number of �
billboards along this arterial is sufficient and tnat �heae �
signs are out of scale in a business districY..
