ROLL CALL Present John Perry, Chairman; Jim Aitkin, Clarence Nicoli, Alan Paterson, Elton Phillips, Everett Severson, Members; Keith Thompson, City Engineer; Larry Bissett, Planning Consultant Absent Jack Annand 2. MINUTES for approval pproval September 20, 1966 ! Approved 3. EDWARDS INDUSTRIES, INC. - Conditional Use - A request for a Condi- tional Use for a Nursing Home in an A-2 (Multiple Dwelling) zone. Tax Lot 200 & T.L. 300, Map $ 2S 1 10 A, S.W. McDonald Street & S.W. Pacific Hwy. Public Hearing - 7:40 P.M. Mr. Edwards presented his plans for the nursing home. Arthur J. Poulin and Iry Larson testified for this zone change. Mr. Charlie Bernard brought up the question of an access road. Hearing closed. It was recommended by Larry Bissett that the Conditional Use be approved contingent upon the Developer providing access, providing it meets the standards to be established under the new Ordinance and be approved by Larry Bissett, Planning Consultant and Keith Thompson, City Engineer. Motion for acceptance by Mr. Phillips with the condition that an access is worked out with Larry Bissett, Planning Consultant and Keith Thompson, City Engineer. Seconded by Mr. Aitkin. Approved by unanimous vote. 4. DAYLE & EVELYN BEACH REZONING - From R-5 (Residential) to A-2 (Multiple Dwelling) , Tax Lot 2100 Map # 1 S 1 36 DA, 11530 S.W. 72nd Avenue. Public Hearing - 8:15 P.M. i. • " A letter from Mr. & Mrs. C. John Gray who are in favor of the zone change was read. Page 1 10-18-66 IL A 3` Mr. Alfred Snyder testified against this zone change. Hearing closed. John Perry, President, recommended the Planning Commission table this zone change until a new zoning map is available. Motion by Mr. Aitkin, Seconded by Mr. Severson. Zone change request tabled. Approved by a unanimous vote of Commission. 5. A. J. ANDERSON REZONING - From R-5 (Residential) to M-3 (Light Manufacturing) , Tax Lot 300, Map # 2S 12 BA, S.W. Tigard Avenue near Grant Avenue. Public Hearing - 8:30 P.M. Bob Sander, Joe Schulte, Mrs. Roy Shaw, Mr. & Mrs. Darold Snyder, and Mrs. Ed Wagner testified against this zone change. Their reasons for opposing this zone change was that it would be spot zoning and that it would lower their property value. Hearing closed. Motion for denial by Mr. Aitkin, Seconded by Mr. Phillips.
