NOTES GENERAL 1. All work shall be done in accordance with jcpenney Master Contract Specifications (MCS), Merchandise Wall Details (MWD)and Standard Details (SD)which represent the minimum acceptable criteria as determined by jcpenney. 2. The General Contractor(GC) is responsible for adhering to all applicable codes, ordinances and standards as dictated by local, state, and federal authorities having jurisdiction. The implementation of any such requirements on the design or construction, or any omissions or conflicts between the drawings and other jcpenney supplied documentation, shall be brought to the attention of the jcpenney Construction Project Manager(jcp CPM) as soon as they are determined, and before proceeding with any work. 3. The GC is responsible in securing all necessary permits and necessary inspections. The GC is to verify all permits are closed at the end of work. 4. The GC is to refer to the Asbestos Containing Material (ACM) Survey, provided by jcp, and verify with the jcp CPM, any possible areas that may contain ACM. 5. The GC shall inspect the project prior to the start of work and report existing conditions to the jcp CPM. Such conditions include, but are not limited to the following: a. silver vs. white lighting louvers, b. slatwall vs. wall standards vs. skinwall, c. headers (curtainwalls)found to be lower than 9'-3"Aff to bottom of header(curtainwall), d. condition of the ceiling tiles, and e. existing general lighting pattern and size (2 X 2 vs. 2 X 4), two weeks prior to the start of construction. Any resulting additional work, approved by the jcp CPM, shall be included in the cost of work. 6. GC is to provide the jcp CPM with quantity take-offs for additional items required which are notated as "supplemental only" on the Responsibility List, two weeks prior to the start of construction. Refer to page S-5 in the "Scope of Work". 7. GC is to provide a separate quote to the jcp CPM for repair of any raceways or junction boxes that are existing to remain and that are not found in compliance with code (i.e. missing junction box covers at splice points, open wiring, inadequate support, etc.). 8. GC is to provide and install materials in accordance with the current shop's Scope of Work, and Prototypical Fixture Plans by Store Size, as provided in this package. 9. The work shall be properly barricaded from the "public areas". Refer to the barricade detail and photos as shown on pages G-3 and G-4. Temporary barricades shall not be constructed in front of fire exits. Do not conceal or cover the"Exit" sign. If necessary, relocate the sign so it is visible from the accessible route. 10. The GC is responsible for turning over shop spaces in a clean condition, including the cleaning of all windows and mirrors, the removal of dust from all surfaces, and final vacuuming of floors at the completion of each shop. 11. The GC will be responsible for the acquisition of a waste container for the removal and the proper disposal of all construction debris, equipment, fixtures, and materials otherwise indicated for disposal. ARCHITECTURAL 1. All walls, header, curtain walls and ceiling areas noted to be "patched and/or repaired" are to match existing surrounding conditions. 2. Wall/Partition Support Materials: No dimpled type metal studs allowed. Refer to MCS 09-29-00, "Gypsum Board". 3. Any required relamination of existing "Skin Wall" shall follow the Architectural Woodwork Institute published guidelines for laminating surfaces. MECHANICAL 1. The contractor shall be responsible for minimizing construction dust sifting outside of the barricaded work area. All air supplies and returns shall be protected with new air filter material within each shop area, to prevent construction dust from migrating into the air conditioning system. 2. Any modification to the existing HVAC, Plumbing, or Fire Protection systems required as a result of the current shop, is the responsibility of the contractor and shall be included in the cost of work. All materials shall match existing. REV 05/14/12 G-1 jcpenney CRITERIA MANUAL GENERAL NOTES ELECTRICAL 1. The GC is to review the Fixture Installation Manual for installation instructions and power requirements for all fixtures as shown on the Fixture Details. ADT, LIFE SAFETY, and LOSS PREVENTION 1. Modify existing fire protection system as required,to provide compliance with current applicable codes, and NFPA. 2. The GC will be responsible for any required modifications to and final locations of the following: a. emergency egress lighting, b. exit signs, c. all sprinkler work, and d. fire extinguishers. 3. The GC will be responsible for coordinating with the local ADT representatives concerning the relocation of any fire and/or intrusion system components, including but not limited to: a. fire alarm activating devices, b. signaling, and c. control equipment prior to removal. Both systems must remain operational at all times. Removal can result in system trouble. 4. GC is to request the Store Manager place a service call to local ADT branch © 1-800-428-7124 to relocate the devices. If the local ADT branch determines a permit is required, GC is to contact ADT personnel as follows: a. George Smith (projects west of the Mississippi river)gbsmith @adt.com, 602-765-0791, or b. Bill Martin (projects east of the Mississippi river)wmartin@adt.com, 727-234-8020. GC is to copy the jcp CPM on the email correspondence. 5. GC is to provide and install conduit to all new device locations, if required. 6. The General Contractor is to inspect the existing exit signs for possible Tritium Exit Signs. The Tritium Exit Signs, manufactured by Isolite and SRB Technologies, usually have a yellow or silver sticker with the radiation (RAD) symbol. The GC must notify the jcp CPM immediately when the Tritium Exit Signs are encountered. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION The following additional information has been provided for the GC's use on Buzzsaw. Barricade walls are meant to be demountable and reusable. Refer to photos as shown on page G-4. 2. All wood materials are to be sanded and painted white on the public side of the barricade. 3. Barricades are to be screwed together end to end. 4. Barricades shall be sturdy enough to withstand the pressure of a person leaning against it from the public side without tipping it over. Additionally, barricades shall be sturdy enough to allow for merchandising on the public side, as required. See note below. Provide kickers as required. Verify there are no exposed nails or screws that might snag clothing or skin. 5. Generally, 4' high plywood panels are to be provided when the barricade wall is to be placed on the tile aisle. 8' high plywood panels are to be provided when the barricade wall is to be placed within the merchandise pad. Verify use of either 4' high or 8' high panels with the jcp CPM. Where indicated by jcp CPM, place standards at 24" 0.0 on 8' high panels for merchandising. 6. Provide 1 pair, 3' X 7' hollow core wood doors and wood door frames for a 6' entry into the current shop (minimum 2 per area). Doors and frames are to be painted white. Doors are to have a 1' X 1' vision panel. Provide keyed lockset. Vertical supports are required on each side of door frame. 7. Use new white opaque visqueen for each shop, or as dictated by local jurisdiction. Neatly tape all seams with white duct tape. 8. Barricades are to remain in place until all remaining dusty work has been completed. 9. Barricades not being used should be carefully stored outside in a storage container(not stacked against containers, against the back wall of the store, or behind other barricaded areas). The store will not provide storage for any unused barricades in the building. 10. Barricades must be inspected daily. Repair, repaint, or replace as required. 11. WALLS 1. Salvage as much header, header trim, header lighting, Skinwall (if applicable), and wall standards as possible for reuse. Salvage only clean and straight standards which are in good condition and greater than or equal to 8' in length. 2. Remove and dispose of any existing "Feature Walls", "Feature Wall Header Returns", gypsum "Fin Walls, and "T Walls" located within the shop space; "T Walls" separating shops are to remain. 3. Remove and dispose of all end wall feature panels when located within the shop space. 4. Salvage wall mounted thermostats, space temperature sensors, receptacles, horn/strobe devices, phones, and all other electrical devices from feature walls, fin walls, "T" walls and column enclosures that are being removed. Refer to the General Notes for information specific to the relocation of any fire or intrusion system components. Contact the jcpenney Construction Project Manager(jcp CPM) for relocations of wall mounted thermostats and space temperature sensors. 5. Remove and dispose of all mirrors and fixture column enclosures from existing columns. 6. Remove and dispose of all "Convenience Hooks". 7. Remove any price scanners, "Find More"fixtures, or any other electronic company program devices found within the shop space, and return to Store Manager for use elsewhere within the store. 8. All end wall and transition wall vertical trims within the shop space should be removed. 9. All wall and header(or curtain wall)trims are to be removed if the trims are architecturally contained (clear start and stop points) within the shop space. Trims extending into adjoining spaces shall remain. 10. Existing headers (or curtain walls) are to remain and should be a minimum of 9'-3"AFF to bottom of the header(or curtain wall). Any conditions found lower than 9'-3" shall be brought to the attention of the jcp CPM prior to raising header (or curtain wall)to 9'-6". Raising the header (curtainwall) shall be included in the cost of work. 11. Existing corner fillers to remain. Any existing corner fillers below 10'-0" shall be extended per Merchandise Wall Detail (MWD) 55 E. 12. Existing fitting rooms to remain. 13. Raise sprinkler heads, as required, that are located behind headers (or curtain walls)that are being raised. 14. Infill gaps in remaining header with salvaged header or local build to match existing. Install header with salvaged header brackets. Space to match existing . Do not toggle. Trim to match existing. Install salvaged header lighting fixtures to match existing. Refer to Lighting Standard Details. Where existing conditions contain eggcrate, replace existing eggcrate with new. If a sufficient quantity of header brackets or header lighting is unavailable from demolition, provide jcp CPM with a quantity take-off. 15. Embedded columns which have been exposed due to demo are to receive gypsum board enclosures and corner guards. Refer to Master Contract Specifications (MCS) section 10 26 00, "Wall and Door Protection", and MWD 54 BC, "Plan Details-Drywall Columns". Dimensions for column enclosures are to match existing. 16. For walls with existing Skinwall: a) Remove all "Feature Wall"and "Fin Wall" fixtures mounted to the surface of the Skinwall. All other existing Skinwall to remain. b) Verify the condition of the remaining Skinwall. Replace damaged panels with salvaged panels. If salvaged quantity of skinwall is not adequate, relaminate Skinwall panels as required. GC is to provide laminate to match existing. Contact the jcp CPM if replacement panels are required. REV 05/14/12 S-1 jcpenney AUGUST SHOPS CRITERIA MANUAL SCOPE OF WORK 17. For walls with Surface Mounted Standards: Verify condition of existing wall standards. Replace from salvaged wall standards, any which are pieced and not clean, straight, and in good condition. Length of standards to match existing. If all standards are being replaced, cut standards to 8' lenghts. Bottom of standard to be 1'-0" AFF. If a sufficient quantity of wall standards is unavailable from demolition, provide jcp CPM with a quantity take-off. 18. For walls with existing Slatwall: a) If Slatwall is plastic, remove and dispose. If Slatwall is hardwood, install V2' gypsum board over existing Slatwall. Trim top and sides. Refer to DtI 02 of this package. b) Install from salvage, wall standards consistently spaced 24" O.C. and centered on the wall. Cut standards to 8' lenghts. Bottom of standard to be 1'-0"AFF. If a sufficient quantity of wall standards is unavailable from demolition, provide jcp CPM with a quantity take-off. 19. Patch, sand and paint headers (or curtain walls), walls and columns. Install preprinted vinyl wallcovering over skinwall panels. Refer to decor drawings. Replace all corner guards. Refer to Master Contract Specifications (MCS)section 10 26 00, "Wall and Door Protection". FLOORS 1. Demo all existing floor finishes, adhesives, and/or setting materials located within the shop space; existing tile aisleways are to remain. 2. Demo existing wall base. Wall base and any column enclosure fixtures should be removed prior to the repair and resurfacing of the floors. 3. All existing power wiring provided in the floor is to be removed to the nearest junction box above the ceiling, or below the floor if fed from below. Continuity must be retained to the next outlet or utilization equipment. 4. All existing data and phone wiring shall be removed back to nearest hub or closet. 5. Patch and repair exposed concrete floors as required. Refer to MCS section 03 35 40, "Interior Concrete Slab and Joint Filler Replacement". 6. Grind and burnish newly exposed concrete floors. Refer to MCS section 03 35 00, "Polished Concrete Floor Finish". 7. Install transition strips. (Refer to Std Dtls 09 60 00 A-C, "Floor Finish Transitions M-P). a. Between existing tile aisleways and burnished concrete floors. b. Between existing wood and burnished concrete floors. c. Between burnished concrete floors and adjacent carpeting. 8. Reinstall new wall base. Refer to Decor Finish Schedule. CEILINGS 1. Patch existing ceiling suspension system as required due to removal of walls and fins. Provide new material to match existing. 2. Provide and install ceiling tiles in affected areas. Replace all damaged and soiled tiles within the shop space. Provide new material to match existing. 3. Modify the sprinkler head layout as required in areas where feature walls, fin walls and "T"walls are being removed so that sufficient space exists between heads, per NFPA and local codes. 4. Modify the diffuser layout as required in areas where feature walls, fin walls and "T" walls are being removed so that sufficient space exist between the diffusers. 5. Existing sound system and speakers to remain. 6. Power: 7. New electrical power to be provided from overhead per fixture requirements. Provide at locations as shown on plans. At notations for power poles, provide a junction box at the ceiling with MC cable to an electrical outlet mounted under the fixture. (Refer to Std Dtl 27 30 00.01, "POS Power Connection). a. Trace the entire circuit of any existing wiring to be partially removed. Before removal mark, label or tag remaining portions of that circuit for type of circuit (normal, emergency, etc.). b. Existing conduit remaining in place may be reused, provided conduit is thoroughly cleaned and tested for continuity before new wire is installed. c. Existing conduit remaining in place, and to be reused, shall run in same direction that new conduit would run, if new conduit were installed. Remove and dispose all conduit and wire not used. If an existing electrical item to be removed is located in the middle of an existing circuit, with other existing items on that circuit to remain, the existing circuit shall be made continuous. e. If an existing electrical item to be removed is located on the end of an existing circuit, the existing wire and exposed conduit back to the next active item on that circuit shall be removed. f. If an existing electrical item to be removed is the only item on the circuit, remove the existing wire and exposed conduit shall be removed back to the panelboard. GC to verify, before removing, whether the circuit could be used for an "added" item in the same vicinity. g. Where an existing, or portion of an existing conduit run to be removed is partially exposed and partially concealed, the exposed portion shall be removed to a concealed point beyond the surface, i.e. a wall, a ceiling, a floor and the surface shall be patched to match existing. h. Unless indicated otherwise, where removal of existing wiring, or existing associated wiring, is indicated on the drawings, work shall also include removal of all associated raceways, unless inbedded in concrete. i. Patch all remaining wall, and floor penetrations to match existing for all electrical items being removed. Seal abandoned cored floor penetrations with fire proof sealant, or as required by local code. 8. Lighting: a. All general lighting is to remain. Contact the jcp CPM if general lighting is not present in the shop space. Respace general lighting as required to maintain lighting pattern. b. Remove feature wall accent lighting and repair ceiling suspension system and ceiling tiles to match existing. Refer to Lighting Standard Details. c. For stores with existing wall wash as perimeter lighting, relocate wall wash to match existing perimeter wall wash lighting pattern. d. For stores with existing accent lighting within the shop space: Remove existing accent lighting and return any trackheads to Store Manager for use elsewhere within the store.. New accent track lighting to be provided by jcpenney; GC to install. Refer to prototypical reflected ceiling plans as example for accent lighting locations. e. New accent and pendant lighting to be provided by jcpenney; GC to install. Refer to prototypical reflected ceiling plans as example for new lighting locations. f. Coordinate all new lighting locations with existing general lighting, HVAC, sound speakers, and sprinklers to avoid conflicts. g. Lighting Control: For stores with existing automatic lighting controls (ALC): GC shall connect new or relocated lighting, display fixtures, or receptacle loads to the appropriate lighting control function as defined in the Energy Management System (EMS)section below. GC shall provide additional contactors or relays of like type to match existing devices if necessary, and connect in like manner to existing EMS on the appropriate function. h. Energy Management System (EMS) 1) GC shall be responsible for following and maintaining the jcpenney EMS lighting control criteria when relocating or adding new lighting and receptacle loads. Conditions may vary slightly from store to store. Refer to MCS section 26-09-23, "Lighting Control Devices". 2) GC shall not alter the control of any electrical loads that are indicated as existing to remain. 3) Emergency fixtures shall not be controlled by occupancy sensors or EMS. 4) For all stores opened after October 1986, verify and locate existing accent lighting junction boxes in upper and lower ceiling plenums of the sales floor. These boxes are either 120 or 277 volt based on the vintage of the store. Power distribution boxes were also provided in these stores with controlled, non-controlled and IG circuits provided in the lower level plenums to feed power outlets to both lower and upper level outlets. GC shall utilize these circuits where applicable. FIXTURES 1. The GC is responsible for the receiving, assembly and installation of all owner supplied fixtures. Refer to Fixture Details and Fixture Installation Manual. 2. New fixtures to be received by the GC and moved directly from the truck to the space under construction. GC is responsible for check-in and verification of fixtures against the fixture plan and purchase orders, accounting for fixtures as they arrive. The GC is to report any damaged and/or missing fixtures withing 24 hours to the jcp CPM. Failure to report damaged and/or missing fixtures shall result in the GC being responsible for the damage or loss. 3. Prior to the beginning of construction, the store will be responsible for relocating all existing loose floor fixtures and wall hardware as well as corresponding merchandise. WALLS 1. Salvage as much header, header trim, header lighting, Skinwall (if applicable), and wall standards as possible for reuse. Salvage only clean and straight standards which are in good condition and greater than or equal to 8' in length. 2. Remove and dispose of any existing "Feature Walls", "Feature Wall Header Returns", gypsum "Fin Walls, and "T Walls" located within the shop space; "T Walls" separating shops are to remain. 3. Remove and dispose of all end wall feature panels when located within the shop space. 4. Salvage wall mounted thermostats, space temperature sensors, receptacles, horn/strobe devices, phones, and all other electrical devices from feature walls, fin walls, "T" walls and column enclosures that are being removed. Refer to the General Notes for information specific to the relocation of any fire or intrusion system components. Contact the jcpenney Construction Project Manager (jcp CPM) for relocations of wall mounted thermostats and space temperature sensors. 5. Remove and dispose of all mirrors and fixture column enclosures from existing columns. 6. Remove and dispose of all "Convenience Hooks". 7. Remove any price scanners, "Find More" fixtures, or any other electronic company program devices found within the shop space, and return to Store Manager for use elsewhere within the store. 8. All end wall and transition wall vertical trims within the shop space should be removed. 9. All wall and header (or curtain wall)trims are to be removed if the trims are architecturally contained (clear start and stop points)within the shop space. Trims extending into adjoining spaces shall remain. 10. Existing headers (or curtain walls) are to remain and should be a minimum of 9'-3"AFF to bottom of the header(or curtain wall). Any conditions found lower than 9'-3" shall be brought to the attention of the jcp CPM prior to raising header(or curtain wall)to 9'-6". Raising the header (curtainwall) shall be included in the cost of work. 11. Existing corner fillers to remain. Any existing corner fillers below 10'-0" shall be extended per Merchandise Wall Detail (MWD) 55 E. 12. Existing fitting rooms to remain. 13. Raise sprinkler heads, as required, that are located behind headers (or curtain walls)that are being raised. 14. Infill gaps in remaining header with salvaged header or local build to match existing. Install header with salvaged header brackets. Space to match existing . Do not toggle. Trim to match existing. Install salvaged header lighting fixtures to match existing. Refer to Lighting Standard Details. Where existing conditions contain eggcrate, replace existing eggcrate with new. If a sufficient quantity of header brackets or header lighting is unavailable from demolition, provide jcp CPM with a quantity take-off. 15. Embedded columns which have been exposed due to demo are to receive gypsum board enclosures and corner guards. Refer to Master Contract Specifications (MCS) section 10 26 00, "Wall and Door Protection", and MWD 54 BC, "Plan Details-Drywall Columns". Dimensions for column enclosures are to match existing. 16. For walls with existing Skinwall: a) Remove all "Feature Wall" and "Fin Wall" fixtures mounted to the surface of the Skinwall. All other existing Skinwall to remain. b) Verify the condition of the remaining Skinwall. Replace damaged panels with salvaged panels. If salvaged quantity of skinwall is not adequate, relaminate Skinwall panels as required. GC is to provide laminate to match existing. Contact the jcp CPM if replacement panels are required. Refer to Dtl 03," Revised Standard Spacing"of this package for plan placement. 17. For walls with Surface Mounted Standards: If existing standard spacing is 30" O.C., GC is to respace standards as required to provide standards consistently spaced 24" O.C. a) Install 1/2" plywood and 1/2" gypsum board over existing walls. Trim top and sides. Refer to Dtl 04, "Revised Standard Spacing"of this package. b) Install from salvage, wall standards consistently spaced 24" O.C. and centered on the wall. Refer to Dtl 03," Revised Standard Spacing" of this package for plan placement. Cut standards to 8' lenghts. Bottom of standard to be 1'-0"AFF. If a sufficient quantity of wall standards is unavailable from demolition, provide jcp CPM with a quantity take-off. 18. For walls with existing Slatwall: a) If Slatwall is plastic, remove and dispose. If Slatwall is hardwood, install 1/2"gypsum board over existing Slatwall. Trim top and sides. Refer to Dtl 02, "Revised Slatwall Section" of this package. b) Install from salvage, wall standards consistently spaced 24" O.C. and centered on the wall. Refer to Dtl 03," Revised Standard Spacing" of this package for plan placement. Cut standards to 8' lenghts. Bottom of standard to be 1'-0" AFF. If a sufficient quantity of wall standards is unavailable from demolition, provide jcp CPM with a quantity take-off. 19. Patch, sand and paint headers (or curtain walls), walls and columns. Install vinyl wallcovering mural. Refer to decor drawings. Replace all corner guards. Refer to Master Contract Specifications (MCS) section 10 26 00, "Wall and Door Protection". FLOORS 1. Demo all existing floor finishes, adhesives, and/or setting materials located within the shop space; existing tile aisleways are to remain. 2. Demo existing wall base. Wall base and any column enclosure fixtures should be removed prior to the repair and resurfacing of the floors. 3. All existing power wiring provided in the floor is to be removed to the nearest junction box above the ceiling, or below the floor if fed from below. Continuity must be retained to the next outlet or utilization equipment. 4. All existing data and phone wiring shall be removed back to nearest hub or closet. 5. Patch and repair exposed concrete floors as required. Refer to MCS section 03 35 40, "Interior Concrete Slab and Joint Filler Replacement". 6. Grind and burnish newly exposed concrete floors. Refer to MCS section 03 35 00, "Polished Concrete Floor Finish". 7. Install transition strips. (Refer to Std Dtls 09 60 00 A-C, "Floor Finish Transitions M-P). a. Between existing tile aisleways and burnished concrete floors. b. Between existing wood and burnished concrete floors. c. Between burnished concrete floors and adjacent carpeting. 8. Reinstall new wall base. Refer to Decor Finish Schedule. CEILINGS 1. Patch existing ceiling suspension system as required due to removal of walls and fins. Provide new material to match existing. 2. Provide and install ceiling tiles in affected areas. Replace all damaged and soiled tiles within the shop space. Provide new material to match existing. 3. Modify the sprinkler head layout as required in areas where feature walls, fin walls and "T"walls are being removed so that sufficient space exists between heads, per NFPA and local codes. 4. Modify the diffuser layout as required in areas where feature walls, fin walls and "T" walls are being removed so that sufficient space exist between the diffusers. 5. Existing sound system and speakers to remain. 6. Power: a. New electrical power to be provided from overhead per fixture requirements. Provide at locations as shown on plans. b. Trace the entire circuit of any existing wiring to be partially removed. Before removal mark, label or tag remaining portions of that circuit for type of circuit (normal, emergency, etc.). Existing conduit remaining in place may be reused, provided conduit is thoroughly cleaned and tested for continuity before new wire is installed. d. Existing conduit remaining in place, and to be reused, shall run in same direction that new conduit would run, if new conduit were installed. Remove and dispose all conduit and wire not used. e. If an existing electrical item to be removed is located in the middle of an existing circuit, with other existing items on that circuit to remain, the existing circuit shall be made continuous. f. If an existing electrical item to be removed is located on the end of an existing circuit, the existing wire and exposed conduit back to the next active item on that circuit shall be removed. g. If an existing electrical item to be removed is the only item on the circuit, remove the existing wire and exposed conduit shall be removed back to the panelboard. GC to verify, before removing, whether the circuit could be used for an "added" item in the same vicinity. h. Where an existing, or portion of an existing conduit run to be removed is partially exposed and partially concealed, the exposed portion shall be removed to a concealed point beyond the surface, i.e. a wall, a ceiling, a floor and the surface shall be patched to match existing. i. Unless indicated otherwise, where removal of existing wiring, or existing associated wiring, is indicated on the drawings, work shall also include removal of all associated raceways, unless inbedded in concrete. j. Patch all remaining wall, and floor penetrations to match existing for all electrical items being removed. Seal abandoned cored floor penetrations with fire proof sealant, or as required by local code. 7. Lighting: a. All general lighting is to remain. Contact the jcp CPM if general lighting is not present in the shop space. Respace general lighting as required to maintain lighting pattern. b. Remove feature wall accent lighting and repair ceiling suspension system and ceiling tiles to match existing. Refer to Lighting Standard Details. c. For stores with existing wall wash as perimeter lighting, relocate wall wash to match existing perimeter wall wash lighting pattern. d. For stores with existing accent lighting within the shop space: Remove existing accent lighting and return any trackheads to Store Manager for use elsewhere within the store.. New accent track lighting to be provided by jcpenney; GC to install. Refer to prototypical reflected ceiling plans as example for accent lighting locations. e. New accent lighting to be provided by jcpenney; GC to install. Refer to prototypical reflected ceiling plans as example for new lighting locations. f. Coordinate all new lighting locations with existing general lighting, HVAC, sound speakers, and sprinklers to avoid conflicts. g. Lighting Control: For stores with existing automatic lighting controls (ALC): GC shall connect new or relocated lighting, display fixtures, or receptacle loads to the appropriate lighting control function as defined in the Energy Management System (EMS) section below. GC shall provide additional contactors or relays of like type to match existing devices if necessary, and connect in like manner to existing EMS on the appropriate function. h. Energy Management System (EMS) 1) GC shall be responsible for following and maintaining the jcpenney EMS lighting control criteria when relocating or adding new lighting and receptacle loads. Conditions may vary slightly from store to store. Refer to MCS section 26-09-23, "Lighting Control Devices". 2) GC shall not alter the control of any electrical loads that are indicated as existing to remain. 3) Emergency fixtures shall not be controlled by occupancy sensors or EMS. 4) For all stores opened after October 1986, verify and locate existing accent lighting junction boxes in upper and lower ceiling plenums of the sales floor. These boxes are either 120 or 277 volt based on the vintage of the store. Power distribution boxes were also provided in these stores with controlled, non-controlled and IG circuits provided in the lower level plenums to feed power outlets to both lower and upper level outlets. GC shall utilize these circuits where applicable. FIXTURES 1. The GC is responsible for the receiving, assembly and installation of all owner supplied fixtures. Refer to Fixture Details and Fixture Installation Manual. 2. New fixtures to be received by the GC and moved directly from the truck to the space under construction. The GC is to report any damaged and/or missing fixtures withing 24 hours to the jcp CPM. Failure to report damaged and/or missing fixtures shall result in the GC being responsible for the damage or loss. 3. Prior to the beginning of construction, the store will be responsible for relocating all existing loose floor fixtures and wall hardware as well as corresponding merchandise. VACATED SPACE: In the space previously occupied by the current shop, GC's scope of work is as follows: 1. For walls with existing Slatwall: a. If Slatwall is plastic, remove and dispose. If Slatwall is hardwood, install '/2" gypsum board over existing Slatwall. Trim top and sides. Refer to Dtl 02 of this package. b. Install from salvage, wall standards consistently spaced 24" O.C. and centered on the wall. Cut standards to 8' lenghts. Bottom of standard to be 1'-0"AFF. If a sufficient quantity of wall standards is unavailable from demolition, provide jcp CPM with a quantity take-off. c. Reinstall new wall base. Refer to Decor Finish Schedule. 2. For walls with existing Skinwall or Surface Mounted Standards: Existing "Feature Walls", "Feature Wall Header Returns", gypsum "Fin Walls, and "T Walls" located within the shop space are to remain. 3. Remove all existing wallcovering. Patch, sand and paint headers (or curtain walls), walls and columns. Refer to decor drawings. 4. Existing flooring to remain. 5. Replace/retouch any damaged ceiling suspension system components. Replace all damaged and soiled tiles within the vacated space. Provide new material to match existing. 6. The store will be responsible for resetting all loose floor fixtures and all wall hardware. 7. GC to adjust accent lighting, as needed, per store direction.
