You can schedule an over the counter permit appointment and if you would like assistance with setting that up let me know. —MH "Mark- late last year I discussed one of our tenants expanding from their current space on the second floor of Building A into space on the ground floor. As the design evolved another objective became the connectivity between their spaces on both floors- not going in and out of doors twice when going between. In concept you agreed but wanted an analysis of the building and showing exit distance and discharge. To start with this tenant has the entire second floor of a two story building. The upper story is 11,833 SF or 118 occupants. There are three stairways to the lower level. Currently they discharge into the exit system or directly to exterior. So the stairways are for their access and egress solely. There are three other tenants on the ground floor besides the expansion space for this tenant. Two are undersized requiring one exit which is right off the main entry lobby. The other tenant has two points of egress into the exit system and one direct to the building exterior. We request that the exit stair between the two contiguous spaces for this tenant be downgraded to allow direct communication between their spaces by removal and/or relocation of doors. As it is, existing elements such as • partitions and stairs are non-combustible and equivalent to 1-hour construction. Exiting from the space will be clearly delineated. It should also be mentioned that the building is type II-B and fully sprinkled. Please review and consider this change to the building.
