CALL TO ORDER: At 7:01 p.m.Vice-Chair John Storhm called to order the November 14,2012 Tigard Library Board. 2. ROLL CALL Vice-Chair John Storhm called the roll. Present at the meeting were: Laura Cadiz, Scott Hancock,Linda Monahan, Dan Snyder and John Storhm; Alternate Stephanie Carter;Library Director Margaret Barnes and Executive Assistant Alison Grimes. David Burke was excused. 3. APPROVE MINUTES The Board reviewed and approved the minutes from the Wednesday, October 10, 2012 meeting. CALL TO THE PUBLIC There was no staff guest this month. 6. COUNCIL GOALS SUGGESTIONS FOR 2013 City Boards and Committees are asked yearly to submit future City goal suggestions to City Council who will then review and choose. Barnes reviewed the current goals and last year's Library Board suggestions and the Board discussed various new goals. Monahan will draft the goals and email them to Board members for final input. 8. LIBRARY OPERATIONS Barnes passed out the October statistics for the Board's review. An electric car charging station had been installed at the west end of the Library's parking lot. There will be additional striping to allow for handicap use of this stall. Attendance at various programs throughout October and early November was high; the Day of the Dead event and Kristallnacht drew many to the Library. Managers are finalizing plans for the 2013 Annual Patron Library Survey. 9. It was also noted that the Barnes and Noble bookstore was relocating to Bridgeport Village and during the month of December, 20% of sales would be given to area schools. 10. ADJOURN There being no further business, Storhm adjourned the meeting at 7:39 p.m. The next meeting of the Tigard Library Board will be Wednesday, December 12 at 7 p.m. in the second floor Conference Room of the Library, 13500 SW Hall Blvd.,Tigard.
