Youth Advisory Council - Minutes
MEETING DATE/TIME: Tuesday,January 6, 2015, 5:30 p.m.
MEETING LOCATION: Tigard Public Library 2nd Floor Conference Room

1. CALL TO ORDER
This meeting was called to order at 5:39 p.m.
2. ROLL CALL
Present: Carter Kruse, Caleb Torgerson, Rayman Kirby, Shaun Rasmusen, Jezeth Zaragoza, Mike
Coloma, Maddie Joel, Zahra Hashmat, Adam LaFountain, Nathan Ung, Jordan Stephens, Breanna
Bennett, Tyler Nickla, Zach Dean
Absent members: Elsa Schuman-Lanier, Amy Jensen, Joseph Murche, Christopher Rebolledo
3. OLD BUSINESS:
• Warm Clothing Drive Results: 20 pounds of clothing were collected at the school! Thanks to
all who donated. The clothes have been donated to Northwest Children's Outreach.
• School Visit: February 6th has been chosen as our date to visit Templeton. We will most
likely be missing fourth period to teach elementary schoolers to read.
• SPED Field Trip: During the next semester, we are planning on volunteering as chaperones
for one of the SPED Field Trips. You will most likely miss the majority of your 3A class.
More information will be given at the next meeting.
• Middle School Community Youth: The letters have been sent out and we are awaiting a
response.
• Mentor Ship: A possible partnership will be made with one of the clubs to assist in our
mentorship plans. Our structure might be similar to the Link Crew. A possible addition to
Twality and Fowler would be Mitch Charter School. A team up with Tualatin YAC would
also be possible for the Twality visit.
• DARE program: At this point, we are lacking a curriculum and source information to teach
the youth. The harmful words lesson will be integrated. A fundraiser is possible for supplies
to distribute.
4.NEW BUSINESS
• Treasury update: We have $40 that will either be donated directly to Northwest Children's
Outreach, or supplies will be purchased from Salvation Army for donation.
