It is permissible to install an egress window in the proposed location. The wall is designed as a
cantilever wall and the opening will not have an effect on the structural integrity of the wall. A
minimum of a 4x6 DF/L#2 header shall be installed at the opening. The window well is to be
designed by others. The assumption is that the well will be retaining less than four feet of soil
and a design by a design professional is not required. If this assumption is not correct, contact
this office.
