10/21/2014 - Minutes City of Tigard Youth Advisory Council - Minutes MEETING DATE/TIME: Tuesday, October 21, 2014, 5:30 p.m. MEETING LOCATION: Tigard Permit Center, Conf. Room#1 13125 SW Hall Blvd, Tigard OR 97223 1. CALL TO ORDER This meeting was called to order at 5:31 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL Present: Carter Kruse, Caleb Torgerson, Rayman Kirby, Zach Dean, Shaun Rasmusen,Jezeth Zaragoza, Mike Coloma Staff: City Manager Marty Wine, Councilor Marc Woodard 3.OLD BUSINESS: • Mike moved to approve last minute's meetings, Carter seconded the motion and the motion passed unanimously • Zach is making a design for the shirts and has dropped off the toys • Halloween Rooms: Decorations will be made this Friday at THS from 11-4. People need to be in attendance to set up, run the room, and take down decorations. The event runs from 4-8 including set up and take down. Carter and Zach will call pumpkin farms to get them to donate pumpkins. Caleb will look into where we can get tools for carving. Suggested donations will be accepted for the warm clothes drive. Members of the Advisory Council will be expected to bring 5-6 bags of candy total and the city will match what we put up. We still need a tarp and tablecloths for cleanup. We need to find a place to store the pumpkins between acquisition and the event. • Marty will be the neutral party in counting the election ballots. Elections will be moved to the second meeting of November • The new applicants are undergoing the interview process and most likely all of them will be appointed to the council 4.NEW BUSINESS • Outreach: A third party website could possibly be made to highlight the activities of the Council. Highlight people/citizens/groups of the community that are in some way exemplary. Different categories (athletics/art/academics/service) could be highlighted (Student of the month).
