Youth Advisory Council - Minutes
MEETING DATE/TIME: Tuesday, October 7, 2014, 5:30 p.m.
MEETING LOCATION: Tigard Permit Center, Conf. Room #1
13500 SW Hall Blvd, Tigard OR 97223
1. CALL TO ORDER
This meeting was called to order at 5:35 p.m.
2. ROLL CALL
Present: Carter (tardy), Caleb, Rayman, Zack, Shaun,Jezeth, Mike,Jordan
Staff: Marty Wine
3. OLD BUSINESS:
• Look over the parliamentary procedure handouts
• Meetings will now be held every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month
• Carter moved to approve last meeting's minutes, Zach seconded the motion and the
motion passed unanimously
• Zach will be dropping the toys off at Northwest Children's Outreach and taking pictures
• Keep handing out applications!
• Town Hall Meetings: Councilor Henderson October 9, @ 5:30 p.m. at Hudson Plaza.
• Councilor Woodard October 11 @ 9 a.m. at TVF&R Station 50/Walnut St. Community
• Room. Councilor Buehner October 16 @ 6:30 p.m. at Red Rock Creek
• The final draft of the bylaws was created
• Carter has motioned to adopt the final draft of the bylaws, Mike seconded the motion and the
motion passed unanimously
• Our shirt will be a white polo with a pocket that has the TYAC logo on it
4.NEW BUSINESS:
• Take pictures of the events!
• Ideas for future events/projects/fundraisers:
- Blanket Drive,
- Coat Drive,
- Care Packages,
- Breast Cancer Awareness,
- Cable show,
- Pumpkin Carving with Good Neighbor Center kids,
- Halloween Rooms for charity,
- Buying pumpkins or selling pumpkin carving for charity,
- Pumpkin bowling

• Youth Summit is a possible event for May. This could be the biggest project that we
undertake and we would need ideas for "workshops"
• Elections will be held once the new applicants are appointed. The election process will
consist of a person making a speech for the desired position, that person being
nominated, that motion being seconded, and that person winning by vote. This will be
required for officers and subcommittee chairs
