It was noted on the Lyon Residence Addition that the existing wall framing adjacent to the addition
is balloon framed. A strap was shown on the drawings which connected the new plates to the
existing plates to tie the systems together. The balloon framed wall does not allow for the strap to
establish a plate to plate connection. This strap may be omitted. The strap's only purpose is to tie
the systems together and is redundant. The systems are tied together at the foundation level and the
ledger which connects the new roof to the existing structure. Please feel free to contact our office

Heath Catching was trained by the Tuff Form Factory Representative in October 2012 to install the Tuff
Form Curbless Shower Pan and Mapei Waterproofing Systems provided by the Accessibility Resource
Center. We have successfully installed these systems in other local municipalities under building permit
oversight.
