As requested we have reviewed using the 2x4 mudsill plate in lieu of 2x6 shown on plans. We have concluded this to be acceptable but we want td make sure the upper level point loads from girder and beams are transferred adequately to the concrete stem-walls. As shown on the attached we'll want 2x squash blocking added at point loads. Another item that came up was a strap foundation holdown towards the center of the garage was missed. We propose to eliminate the HD by continuing the shear- wall to the garage wall pier and making the connection shown on detail D28. Finally,Simpson'STHD14' interior shear-wall holdowns were replace with 'HDU4' holdowns and it was asked that we verify this to be acceptable within this report(this was asked previously over a phone conversation).
