Since our last meeting on this conceptual design project, the project team has held a public open house,
discussion at the.August 9 City Council meeting,discussions with ODOT management,and conducted further
analysis of the alternatives.
The project team reported that Tigard currently has about$1 million budgeted for this project ODOT
currently has $1 million budgeted for this project,plus another$3 million contingent upon identification of a
viable project alternative.
Both agencies have said that it is highly unlikely that any significant additional funding would be available any
time soon. Both expressed a desire to find a solution that would use the available funding to make a significant
difference at the intersection.
Attached are the handouts prepared by the consultant team and distributed at tonight's meeting. This
summarizes the eight alternatives considered,along with the effect of each on traffic flour,capacity, safety,
property.impact,business impact, cost,and other factors. Please review the attached .pdf files for more
information before reading on.
