TESTS TO BE PERFORMED SY MANVFACTIlASR:
DIELECTRIC VOLTAGE ii1TXSTAND
1. Each window panel and metal frame shall withstand without
electrical breakdown, as a Routine Production Line Test, the application of a
40 -70 Ha potential of 1240 V between live parte and dead -metal parts. The
test potential shall be applied for 1 min.
2. The teat shall be conducted when the window panel le complete -
fully assembled. It is not intended that the window panel be unwired.

3. The test equipment shall include a transformer having a
essentially sinusoidal adequate output, a means of indicating the teat
potential. and an audible or visual indication of breakdown. In the event of
breakdown, manual reset of an external switch or an automatic reject of the
unacceptable unit under teat is required.
4. If the output of the test equipment transformer is less than 500
VA, the equipment shall include a voltmeter in the output circuit to directly
indicate the test potential.
5. If the output of the test equipment transformer is 500 VA or
larger, the toot potential may be indicated by a suitable voltmeter in the
primary circuit or in a secondary winding circuit, by a selector switch
marked to indicate the teat potential, or by marking in a readily visible
location co indicate the test potential of equipment having a single test
potential output. When marking ie used without and indicating voltmeter, the
equipment shall include a positive meant), such as a power -on lamp, to
indicate that the manually reset switch has been react following a tripout.
6. Test equipment other than that described in Para. 4 -6 may be uood
if found suitable to accomplish the intended factory control.

DESCRIPTION
PRODUCT COVERED:

This Laminated Technologies Privacy Film window concurs of two glace
panels with two sheets of urethane located between the glass panels.
Contained between the urethane sheet. is a polymer diepereed liquid crystal
(PDLC). The purpose of thio window io to create a "frosted" privacy window
or a clear window. In the normal state, the glass appears "frosted' and
allows diffused light to pass through it. When the electrodes within the
glaee panels become energised, the glace becomes transparent.

Provided with the ApplicaAt'o name. manufacturer's identification and
electrical ratings (120 V. 3A).
ENGINEERING CONSIDERATIONS (NOT FOR FIELD REPRESENTATIVE'S USE):
Conditions of Acceptability:
These products are for use only in applications whore the acceptability
of the combination has been determined by Underwriters Laboratories Inc. The
features which should be considered in determining the acceptability of these
motors in specific applieatieno are indicated below.
1. Thia laminated window is suitable for use with 3M, Cat.
No. PC1204 power conditioner. The suitability when supplied with any other
power supply should be determined in the end -use application.
2. The window needa to be installed in a suitable enclosure that
providoo a R•oar►o to connect to the buildings electrical system.
3. The system has been evaluated for indoor dry applications only.

1. Glass Panels - "Laminated Technologic° Privacy Window" glass,
chemically or heat strengthened two panels provided, overall minimum
1/4 in. thick, size ranges up to 30 it polymeric material located
between the glees, panels which eandwichee a liquid crystal material.
2. Strain Relief - Part of "Laminated Technologie9 Privacy window° Listed
crimp on connectors staggered surrounded by R/C (YDPJ2) heat shrink
tubing. Additional (strain relief provided at glaea panel where leads
exit. Laminated Technologies No. DP - 125 or DP -605 adhesives or JPS
Elaetomeriee thermoplaatic polyurethane No. PE -399, 0.025 in. shall be
used to secure the 'fitting" to the glass panel. See ILL. 3 for
details.

The Surge Protector Module is capable of
servicing up to 1000 sq feet of LC Privacy Glass.
All LC Privacy Glass runs on 110 VAC / 50 -60 Hz,
and all wiring should be installed in min of 5/16"
trade size Greenfield.
