Specifications Y i FIRE CONTROL ASD-PL SERIES INSTRUMENTS LOW PROFILE ANALOG ADDRESSABLE PHOTOELECTROMC SENSOR APPROVED DESCRIPTION The FCI Model ASD-PL Low Profile Analog Addressable Photoelectronic Sensor is 1.7-inches high when mounted in 'a standard base, thus presenting a very low profile suitable for installation where architectural requirements are a prime concern. The sensor is continually monitored to measure any change ;: -° • or,:g APP in its sensitivity due to the environment (dirt, smoke, , temperature, humidity, etc.). It can give an advance " indication to the control panel of the need for maintenance • and can be specific as to where the maintenance is needed. If local regulations permit, then selected maintenance may be performed as opposed to having to check the sensitivity of all sensors to assure overall performance when only a few may be dirty. FEATURES Designed to operate in conjunction with the FCI Analog Addressable Fire Alarm controls, the ASD-PL sensor • Compatible with FCI Analog transmits an analog value representative of the sensitivity that Addressable Control Panels can be used by the system to determine when maintenance is • Low Profile Construction required.Signal processing for alarm verification is built into the system to provide immunity to false alarms. • Easy plug-in of the Head to Base The sensor is of plug-in construction and is directly interchangeable in the same base with the ASD-IL analog • Built-in Signal Processing ionization and ATD/ATD-R thermal sensors.A wide variety • Built-in Tamper-Resistant Feature of bases, with sounder, relay, etc.,is available.Remote LED annunciator capability is also available as an optional • Remote Test Feature (From the Panel) accessory. • Built-in Test Switch The ASD-PL detector is Listed for use inside ducts up to a velocity of 4,000 FPM. • 360° View Angle of Dual Alarm LEDs The sensor may be tested from the control panel, or functional testing can be performed by applying a test magnet • Removable Insect Screen and Cover according to the test procedures. for Field Cleaning An optional isolator base,Model B224B1,is also available. • Sealed against Dirt, Insects, and Installation of two of these isolator bases allows Style 7 Back Pressure operation for all sensors located between the bases. • Optional Bases for Auxiliary Functions • Maximum Air Velocity 4,000 FPM TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Operating Voltage 15-32 VDC Standby Current (Sensor) 230 uA(without communication) 330 uA(one communication every 5 sec. with LED enabled) Alarm Current (max.)(LED lit) .007 amp. Smooth, pleasing contours and an all white finish blend in with most ceiling ""^ designs. The rate of rise feature detects fires that grow rapidly s _ in intensity by quickly responding when the rate of temperature rise exceeds 15°F(9°C)per minute. The fixed temperature element operates independently of the rate of rise feature and uses a fusible alloy. When ; ' R , activated, the external heat collector drops away to provide quick visual confirmation that the element has operated. ' A patented reversible mounting plate is supplied with each detector. In one position it attaches to a 3 1/4 or 4-inch octagon box or a plaster ring.In the other position,it can be used for open wiring without junction boxes. The different models are marked with unique paint schemes on the heat collector. The detector is 4 9/16" diameter by 1 3/8" high flush mounted, and 1 9/16" high surface mounted.
