Highway 217 Tigard, Oregon • April 28, 1967 City Council City of Tigard Tigard Oregon Attention: His Honor The Mayor • Gentlemen: On April 18, 1967 the Planning Commission at it' regular meeting considered a building to be built on a lot on the best side of Burnham Street and approximately 100 feet South of Ash. The proposed building was to be leased to Mr. and Mrs. George 'Mastro for the purpose of an auto body shop, presently doing business in a building owned by Meyers Bros. at the corner of Highway 99 and Walnut. . The application for a permit to build this building was turned dawn. , However, it is the belief of the appli.ante that the maim reason it was not received favorably was because of the opposition of the residents in the vicinity and that the a eason for their opposition was because they did not understand II that; • 1. The building would have a pleasing appearance as the plan shows. 2. A plant a ng area at the entrance to the lot must be maintained. 3. The applionts must give 101 of road frontage to the City for a wider ste. et.deve1opmont. 4. Old dead auto bodies and parts will not be left to public view. The applicants understand that the permit 'would have to be given special consideration due to the undersized lot and the inability of the Planning Commis," axiom to agree on the exact use of the M4 Zeno at their meeting on April 18,1967. { The applicants also wonder if the Commissioners are aware that they are penalising them in owning All undereieed lots as they have owned it for several, years before the toning took place.
