This alternative is designed to be in lieu of planting the boulevard tree(s) prior to final inspection request. It should be noted the builder will still be responsible for the planting. At such, this alternative is broken into two subjects to reflect builders and developers. A. For a developer request: 1. In lieu of planting the boulevard tree(s) for an approved development, the developer may either, (a) post the financial security with the County for the appropriate amount per tree as determined by the County, or (b) assign the County appropriate financial amount set aside through private agreements (such as escrow set asides as part of home /lot closings). B. For a builder request: 1. In lieu of planting the boulevard tree(s) for an approved plot plan and building permit, the builder may post the financial security with the County for the appropriate amount as determined by the County. C. Method of Financial Security Calculation 1. For a developer, the total number of boulevard tree(s) per approved development times $200 per tree equal the amount to be posted with the building services - Land Development Services Division. 2. For a builder, the total number of boulevard tree(s) per approved plot plan times $200 per tree equal the amount to be posted with the building services - Land Development Services Division. D. Administration of Financial Security 1. For a developer, the financial security shall be in form of cash, or check, letter of credit, or a County approved financial surety. Any financial surety. The Land Development Services Manager shall recommend from time to time to the Director of DLUT potential landscape projects to utilize such funds.
