construction shall be protected by a tight - fitting smoke and draft
control assembly having a 20- minute fire - protection rating [Section
3305 (H)]. Doors shall be self- closing or automatic - closing (Section
4306 (f)].
2. When the occupant load of the corridor reaches 50, the corridor shall lead

3. The exiting system within the proposed remodel area shall enter into a one
hour fire resistive corridor providing not less than two directions from
any point within the corridor to separate exits.

Dear Mr. Funk,
Enclosed please find four sets of prints and specifications for the tenant improvements at the
Mervyn's store at Washington Square Mall. As we discussed on the phone an architectural firm
sealing drawings in the state of Oregon has to operate as a Professional Corporation registered in the
state. The same is not true for a Professional Engineer. He needs only be registered as a P. E. to
legally seal the documents.
Please accept the enclosed documents to fulfill the legal permit requirements. They are sealed by a
P. E. registered in the state and have not been altered since our previous submittal. It is SSOE's
intention that these documents may be substituted for the documents originally submitted on May
17,1995.
